newsOwen Developments, the UK's leading forced induction specialist and sole supplier to the BTCC and Formula 2 championships, is pleased to launch an uprated MHI TD-5HR turbocharger for FIA Group A specification Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX rally cars which offers previously unattainable levels of performance.

The results of extensive dyno and real life rally stage testing, the Owen's Evo IX Group A turbocharger meets all existing FIA Group A regulations yet uses a heavily re-engineered centre housing rotational assembly. This features a ball bearing conversion with metal bearing cages for the ultimate in transient boost response and outright reliability.

On the inlet side, Owen's has opted for cutting edge engineering in the form of a forge milled billet HTA aluminium compressor wheel, which incorporates an advanced aerodynamic profile that entails remachining the MHI compressor cover to suit.

The HTA compressor wheel greatly enhances spool up and outright performance, even with the use of the mandatory Group A 34mm diameter inlet restrictor, which is specifically machined by Owen Developments to maximise performance.

In house dyno testing by Owen Developments on a Group A Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX has produced power outputs in excess of 340 bhp, with greatly enhanced torque characteristics.
