New high flowing TIAL Q50 VTA blow off valve

31 March 2009

newsLeading UK turbocharger specialist Owen Developments (UK) Ltd is delighted to announce the latest edition to its range of high performance TIAL? tuning components - the Q50 blow off valve (BOV.)

The new Q50 is the first revision of the ultra successful TIAL? alloy vent to atmosphere (VTA) BOV that was launched nine years ago and features a number of design, quality and performance advantages over rival products.

TIAL? Q50 VTA BOV - Smooth external design and appearance

Designed for use on any turbo-charged and super-charged application, both the body and all internal components on the new TIAL? Q50 VTA BOV are CNC machined from 6061 aluminium alloy, which allows the housing to be anodised with a selection of colours - black, blue, purple, red or silver

An aluminium mounting flange is supplied with each unit, with a stainless steel version being available as cost option.

The V-Band design aluminium mounting clamp gives the TIAL? Q50 VTA BOV a clean and unique look. To ensure durability the clamp is anodised and uses stainless steel hardware for a long lasting, corrosion-free appearance.

TIAL? Q50 VTA BOV - Unrivalled performance

The new TIAL? unit features a large (50.5mm) valve and countless hours of R&D has produced a valve design that is able to flow a staggering 60% more than the original - that means 60% more air is blown off per cycle! Courtesy of these improvements, TIAL? is confident that the new Q-series is the highest flowing VTA BOV on the market today.

In addition, the new TIAL? Q50 VTA BOV also comes with a machined aluminium banjo-type air fitting and bolt, which uses an over sized 10mm hose barb to enable rapid actuator response.

TIAL? Q50 VTA BOV - Durability by design

To prevent the possibility of the valve seal sticking and pulling out, the TIAL? Q50 VTA BOV uses a Viton O-ring that is clamped permanently in place.

Wear resistance within the Q50 unit is further improved thanks via a Teflon-lubricated and hard anodise-coated valve stem and guide, which will ensure years of consistent performance.

As an added durability measure the actuator used within the TIAL? Q50 VTA BOV uses a long life high temperature resistant silicone Nomex-reinforced diaphragm.

TIAL? Q50 VTA BOV - Prices and availability

The TIAL? Q50 vent to atmosphere blow off valve is available now from Owen Developments (UK) Ltd, priced at £195.48 including VAT @ 15%.
