Record Breaking Freedom 100 Boosted by Owen Developments

Closest Ever Finish at Indianapolis Motor Speedway

Last weekend saw the closest ever finish in the storied 117-year history of Indianapolis Motor Speedway; just two one-thousandths of second separated winner of the Owen Developments boosted Indy Lights Freedom 100 Dean Stoneman and second placed Ed Jones.

The aim of single specification series such as Indy Lights is to provide a level playing field for up-and-coming drivers so that they are separated by talent. This has been demonstrated by just six inches separating Stoneman and Jones after 100 miles of racing. Performance parity like this can only be achieved when all the series suppliers, including turbocharger and wastegate supplier Owen Developments, focus on equal performance. Owen Developments have considerable experience supplying single specification turbochargers for motorsport, including supplying series like the British Touring Car Championship, MINI Challenge and Formula 2. Being part of setting this record is the latest chapter in Owen Development’s motorsport history.

See below for video of the amazing final lap of the Freedom 100.

Owen Developments is one of Europe’s premier high performance forced induction specialist, with a proven track record of supplying turbochargers to a global customer base covering the motorsport, performance aftermarket and OEM sectors. Owen Developments is the sole turbo supplier to the British Touring Car Championship, the highly competitive one-make MINI Challenge and Indy Lights (Indycar’s feeder series).
