Christy Harrison

18 January 2013

It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Christy Harrison (nee Owen,) who passed away after a long battle with cancer on the 7th January. She was 41 years old.

A long term employee of the family firm, Christy had been instrumental in helping to grow Owen Developments in conjunction with the skills of her father Brian, brother Lee and husband Mark, where her organisational talents, management prowess and warm, caring personality made her both much liked and much respected.

Christy bore her health problems with unfailing good humour, courage and a positive energy that sustained her in her professional duties until just a few days before she was ultimately hospitalised over the Christmas holiday. Ironically, thanks to a pioneering treatment it seemed that her health had improved in recent months, to the extent that she had overseen a management restructuring of Owen Developments and was consequently promoted to the position of Managing Director early in December.

She leaves behind her husband Mark and their two daughters with whom we share our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. We will all miss her, for her generosity of spirit, her motivation and her smile - she was one who truly left the party way too early.
