Owen Developments (UK) Ltd consists
of five divisions:
|
Development
Run by the Managing
Director, Brian Owen, this division
is responsible for designing
and developing new products and initiatives to the company
and subsequently to the market.
The automotive industry is a fast
moving world of new technologies
and ever changing models, which
we are able to cater for.
|
 |
The motorsport areas of the industry
are very competitive by their
very nature. It is imperative
that we not only meet the demands
for components for new and past
products but that we also invest
time and money in developing new
systems and parts to compliment
the manufacturer’s latest
products. Whether the fuel is
petrol, diesel, methanol or even
the latest hybrid power, we have
a solution and suitable products
to meet those requirements.
|
Manufacturing
The ability to combine
machined and fabricated
parts in-house is unique amongst
engineering companies and this
ensures total control over quality,
production volumes and product
lead times. Working from technical
design drawing supplied by our
clients or produced in-house at
Owen Developments, we are happy
to manufacture and supply small
or large batches of products.
All manufactured products are
subject to universally recognised
ISO standards.

Turbochargers
This department is
headed by Lee Owen who has many
years experience in the turbocharger
development division and controls
the production and supply of both
one-off specials, rebuilds and
new turbochargers for Group
A and Group N motorsport as
well as fast road hybrids.
Also catered for are volume supplies
of OE parts to vehicle manufacturers
and the aftermarket. All major
makes of turbochargers are catered
for from Japanese to American,
including the Garrett
Roller Bearing Turbos.
|
 |
The remanufacturing
of turbochargers to their
original specification using genuine
components is a major part of
our business and one that is growing
all the time as turbochargers
are fitted to more and more standard
road going cars and commercial
vehicles especially with the boom
in diesel vehicle sales. Major
vehicle manufacturers, private
customers, franchised and non-
franchised automotive dealerships
and service centres throughout
the UK use this remanufacturing
service.

Performance Tuning
Mark Harrison is regarded
in the industry as one of the
leading exponents in performance
engine development and he
‘heads’ this division.
Petrol and diesel engines can
be performance enhanced using
the latest technology to re-map
the standard electronic control
unit (ECU) or by fitting a piggyback
ECU or by providing an enhanced
stand alone ECU system. Adapting
or changing the ECU only does
half of the job. To ensure the
ECU and engine are in harmony
the vehicle should be fine-tuned
using our on-site
rolling road. This state of
the art computerised facility
is equipped with full data logging
facilities to provide the customer
with a precise record of their
vehicle’s performance.
The two and four-wheel drive rolling
roads can handle such power as
35 to 1,200 bhp with adequate
cooling to ensure safe and realistic
control over engine temperatures.
