Time Attack success for Guglielmi and Owens
Owen Developments would like to pass our congratulations onto Lotus Elise driver Steve Guglielmi who destroyed the Time Attack Pro class opposition at Brands Hatch. Despite only running two laps in the Pro final Steve clocked a lap some 1.5 seconds quicker than his nearest rival, shaving 0.3 seconds from the Brands Hatch Indy Time Attack Pro Class record in the process.
"It was a fantastic meeting, the car now has so much grip but the engine is basically unchanged from last year," Steve enthused. "We go into the final meeting in October with a small chance of taking the Pro Class title, but I think that second place overall is more realistic."
Steve's car uses a highly tuned version of the popular VAG 20-valve 1.8T unit, which uses an Owen Developments Garrett GT30-76 roller bearing turbo, tubular exhaust manifold and Motec M400 engine management mapped by Mark Harrison.
To cap off a successful weekend, Jamie Reynolds, running a Guelielmi prepared Lotus in the Time Attack Club class, won Quickest RWD forced induction car and took overall Club class honours. Jamie's car also uses an Owen Developments turbocharger and manifold, producing 430bhp from its 1.8T 20-valve motor.
